VIN Plate

I am thinking about buying a Pantera, and would like to check the car's VIn plate against the registration document to ensure the usual theft, damage, etc. I heard that normally it is on the dashboard, however, this car does not have a dashboard plate. Where else is this information in the pantera?

The VIN number is on a plate attached to the dashboard in the upper left side. All the info is also permanently stamped into the top of the toe box under the front hood. Both areas may have been reupholstered over the VIN info, but unless the areas have been actually cut away for some illegal reason, the stamped info is still there. The engine # etc is on another plate rivetted to the left rear inner fender panel and matches the stamped # above the l. side of the bellhousing.
