Bill,

To return to the stock Pantera configuration, you will need:

crank pulley
water pump pulley
bracket for compressor/alternator AND its idler pulley
adjusting arm for the alternator

If it is missing, you also need a timing pointer.

Many owners upgrade to a newer GM alternator. Jon Haas at Pantera Electronics offers one, with the needed spacers/bolts to fit one into the stock bracket.

As you will likely be installing A/C, I know first-hand Louisiana humidity can be a killer, you should consider upgrading to a Sanden rotary compressor. Many threads on this upgrade if you search.

The Sanden needs an adaptor plate and it is widely available from eBay and our vendors.

DO NOT buy a fancy hot rod chromed compressor or one of the China look alike units. Genuine Sanden if you wish to avoid failure headaches.

The stock idler pulley is a bitch to adjust. IPSCO (www.ipsco.ORG) sells an upgraded pulley mounting that should be a no-brainer upgrade, as you are starting off with nothing.

I am not aware of anyone making a repro/upgraded A/C-alt bracket. You'll have to source an original from an owner or vendor.

The bulkhead reduction Husker mentioned is a great upgrade for your passengers. But there are a LOT of great upgrades. If your goal is to drive your Pantera in the near future, I would urge you to concentrate on the basic project without being tempted by every possible upgrade. Lack of focus can lead to you creating a "forever" project that never finishes.

I can provide both pulleys and a timing pointer. Please send me a Private Topic by clicking my avatar name in the upper left corner of this post.
