Here are some photos. The chassis number plate says it is chassis -1, but the plate looks awfully new and done by hand, so who knows.

The fellow who works on it said it was damaged in a race and not ready for the race Piers Courage was killed in. The current owner got it recently and had Hall and Hall fix the damage from that long-ago race and restore it to concourse-quality.

He said it ran for the first time at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. To me it looked like it hadn't been driven at all since restoration and it didn't run at the Silverstone Classic.

Looks like the photos have to uploaded one at a time. Or is there a way to do multiple?

Jim
The last photo shows one of the magnesium bulkheads that, according to DeTomaso the Man and the Machines, was unique to the DeTomaso. The mechanic said this was "the heavyweight car," the lightweight car having had the flat areas between the ribs in the bulkhead removed to decrease weight.

The car had a Cosworth engine back in the day, too.

Jim, great photos and fantastic restoration. Thanks for sharing.

If you want to post multiple images, you need to create a new photo gallery instead of a post. Unfortunately, you need to do it with the first post. You can't change a thread to a gallery later.

David, I wonder if those are the same cars because there are quite a few differences between them. Most notably the location of the front wings and the shape/placement of the windscreen.

Great looking car, and man, would I ever love to have a set of those wheels...
