windshields and dash removal

Hey, I've searched the old posts with no luck.

I need a definative answer.

Can you replace the windshield in a 74 without pulling back the dash or must it be out of the way?

I want to save the rubber if I can.

I'm taking it to a pro glass shop to have this done. No back yard hack job on this one.

Thanks for any feedback.

Doug,

Not sure about the '74, but it can be done on a '71. The installer doesn't need much room to get his pull rope extracted. If you can see the edge of the rubber gasket, that should be enough room.

a week ago i did put my windshield in place with the dash, no problems at all. I started by putting the rubber on the winschield then I pushed the lower part of the windshield in place to the body, then sides, then upper....done
sombody else took it away so dont know whats the best pulling it out but i would start reverse... upper...sides...lower
