I bought that car @Mecum years ago, had to be pushed on the block, Clutch master was dry. Sold it to Big John Wester. Pretty sure Dana ownes it now.
Interesting and curious if your had the original intake manifold and carburetor on it when you sold it?
Oh God no idea. Too many Panteras in my life. I was the only bidder/buyer. Everyone was scared of the car. Remember, it couldn't drive (no clutch pressure) so they stated non-running. Had to be pulled on/off stage w/a golf cart. After the auction we went to Advance auto to buy brake fluid, bled the clutch. Drove it, everything was fine.
Will be interesting what it sells for. I have 7234 owned 48 years. Same color combo and 19k miles.
Yes it will, one of my cars that I'm restoring is exactly the same!!
Mine is the same as well. 7146 in red but without the GTS livery, 24k miles
Hi, what did you mean by " without the GTS livery"?
It’s a real GTS, but when the previous owner had it repainted, he didn’t do the black hood, rockers, rear deck or decals. He also did a nice set of welded flares instead of the originals. Depending on how the cabinet business goes this year, i’m thinking of doing a repaint from the current red to silver, with the correct GTS details.
"Cabinet business", as in kitchen cabinets?
Does your car have the original intake manifold and Motorcraft carburetor on it?
Yep. We build custom cabinets for clients in NYC. Generally we’ll do most of the millwork for an entire apartment, often including the doors and molding sets. We’ll often be on a single job for a year or more.
I have the original carb and manifold, but they are not on the car. They were serviceable when I took them off 25 years ago. I’ve got all the original bits right down to the wheels and Arrivas.
I assume you’re in the cabinet business?
Yes I was in the kitchen, bath and remodeling business. One of my showrooms was in midtown Where are you?
Do you still have all the vacuum lines and fittings for the original set up, photos?
Just sold $120,000.00
Is that price good or lower than expected??

It was $132,000 all in with premium for the buyer. Hagerty values a #2 GTS at $133,000 and #1 $144,000 Dec 2024, given the market is still softening I wouldn't say it should be substantially higher.
