Team,

well one day EVERYTHING will be NEW on my CAT.

As bleeding the cooling system I was working on the front trunk. Bleeding is all ok now and easy, Engine runs well after the all Water loss (see my other post). As working in the front trunk there was a noise coming from the Brake booster. A kind of "leak noise". Also the engine vacuum was not that high only 10, altough the cam operlap is decent (need to get the figure). The brake still works ok.

Did check the older forum info there is talk about replacement, well before I replace the whole thing,  wondering if I can rebuild it.
 - found a nice video on opening the booster and work on it, a nice US fellow is showing it.
- Question: dose anyone know the GASKET set I would need? I guess only the small gasket for the push rod, as diafram is probably in good shape..

Danke

Matthias

- it is NOT the Main Cylinder..is brand new..
- issue is the "vaccum booster - bomb" in the front trunk", which has the vacuum line from the engine.
Test 1: With engine running it makes a noise as air goes back in the Vacuum booster.
Test 2: Suckung per TEST device on the holse does NOT build up any vacuum
Test 3: sucking per mouth (!) on the hose from below...NO resistance, i.e no vacuum building up

Looking for rubber gasket set for the   Vacuum booster/Bomb

any thoughts? or do I need a  new one?

tx Larry,

I started a conversation with the folks in Modena/IT per Eugenious link. Let me see what they come up with..I have NO idea on the push rod diameter as the vacuuum booster has no more a type stamp. ON the Master cylinder there was the US Bath tub including the ADAPTER 4 to 2 bolds I did replace them!!!
..but as you said this is again independent on the Boster problem itself.

Question remaining: Is there an issue on the PRECISE length of the push rod as I chnaged to a Europen Master and NO ADAPTER 4 to 2 ? I did check the binding gap  but NOT on the last 1..2 mm ..
