9189 has been standing around for meny years before i started the rebuild. i have dismantled the front calipers and had them soaking in diesel for ages but i still cannot move any of the pistons.i was going to have a tool made to fit under the lip at the tops of the pistons that would allow me to screw bolts againt the caliper to allow me to prehaps extract them. any advice from you experianced lot or will it be just be an exchange unit and a lot more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ that i should go for.

Do you want to maintain the stock system? If not, there are plenty of oustanding aftermarket brake systems out there with an equally wide range of prices. All depends on what you plan for your Cat. From the condition I saw your car in, I'd guess it would be unreasonable to try and salvage the original system. Just too much corrosion.
i was going to maintain the stock system, i have had the rotors done already as they just had a little surface corosion i have new braided stainless pipes but im now thinking it may be best to buy the new calipers from pi that mount with the standard rotors. any idear what cost

I'd go the aftermarket route also. You'll end up with a much better system than your 20 year old factory calipers and your new aluminum calipers would be considerably lighter than the old anchors your GT-5 had.

Just be prepared to open your wallet with what ever option you go with.
I have the originals from my 82 GT5 #9203 lying around somewhere. If you're interested let me know and I'll look for them and take some pics.

I upgraded to Hall Superstopper (Corvette) brakes a few years ago when I did some chassis work and went with 17" wheels. They're certainly nice new brakes and good insurance. But as far as I've had to test them so far, the performance and stopping power of the originals was just as good.

So, what is required to make the Corvette brakes (rotors & calipers?) fit the Pantera? Which Corvette model year can be made to fit? Has anyone done it themselves i.e. is it a job for an advanced DIYer?

hi deeb
for sure i would be intrested in buying the whole set up from you if the calipers are ok and all the pistons are free movement. if you can take the time to find out what it will cost to send them out to saudi arabia, fed ex/ups/ect. then add to that what you want for them then please email me as im sure we can do a deal.
