I'm looking to increase the rigidity of my chassis before getting a wheel alignment on my 72 at the same time that I am cutting out the fixed chassis brace under the oil pan.

Before starting from scratch does anyone have any kits still available or info on what is really necessary as far as front, middle and rear braces.

Spirited road driving not racing.

I've read every post that is up but as most of the kits seem to have been available 20 or so years ago the info seems to be a bit light on.

Thanks in advance.

The triangular front trunk braces are a complete waste IMO, just take up valuable trunk space in an area of the car that is pretty rigid by design. Adjustable rear cross members are readily available in an array of styles, so that just leaves the lower front and rear braces to source. Really it's the rear lower one that solves most of the flex.

It is a shame that no one has taken up manufacture of the multi piece kit after Bobby's passing. Larry's (Pantera parts Connection, Carson City, NV) are somewhat different in design, Larry swears by them, but they never gained popularity like the old Hall / Byers kit. PI Motorsports still list chassis strengthening kits (front or rear) in their catalog, I'm not sure of the design.
