I have a McLeod that I purchased from PI Motorsports. It can take a lot of power and pedal pressure is reasonable, although that is subjective. I don’t know what type of material was used to make the clutch. Jerry Sackett could answer that for you.
Simon, I've had excellent results with the McLeod 500 series clutch discs. It's true what they say about them; as driveable as an organic disc but more durable under hard usage.
FYI, the last pressure plate I tried was McLeod part # 360048-5A. It's a 10.5" diaphragm unit with an aluminum friction ring. I can't imagine any Pantera clutch being better! I used it with one of their hydraulic T/O bearings although I'm sure it would be fine with the OEM hydraulics.
