Does the forum have any experience here. I am in favour of Stef‘s pan but it’s double the price of Aviaid. Even the Aviaid does not look as superbly finished as the Stef’s pan but due to the history of Aviaid they now how it should work.

I just bought an Aviaid pan for my 302 motor. Work of art. Fit perfectly. My motor builder uses them all the time. No issues so far from dyno time running. I also had them install the Aviaid dip stick.
The Aviaid is the "Gold Standard"of oil pans. For a late '60s early '70s "artifact" it is pretty. I was pretty then too.
When the pan is installed in a Pantera, there isn't really much to see. I would go with the Aviaid all over again if I had to choose. The others are just "also rans".
I've been very happy with the Kevko pans that I've used for quite a few years.

I have had two Kevko oil pans on my Pantera. The first one was one my Cleveland engine and the second one is on my current Fontana engine. The Kevko oil pan is very well made and fit perfectly. I also had a custom built Stef's aluminum pan on the previous Fontana engine build. I use using a huge Titan billet oil pump and Stef's was the only company that could make the pan. The quality of the Stef's pan was good, but it barely fit inside of the Pantera's frame rails. The Stef's pan now sits in a corner of my garage along with that monster Titan oil pump.
Honestly I don't think that you can make a mistake on which one you pick. They are all high quality. It is mostly a perception thing on how you think they look.
And based on stock level, since Stef‘s can not supply right now 🤔
Aviaid and Kevko pans are built from new steel cores whereas Stef's pans are fully fabricated from aluminum. Pantera Performance sells oil pans that look like Aviaid or Kevko pans but are fully fabricated from aluminum and less expensive than Stef's.
No the Aviaid I have selected is fully aluminum
Check with Aviaid on inventory. They told me the pan I wanted was not always in stock.
I just called them I need to correct myself. It’s a steel pan but coated with some silver, zinc alloy. That’s why half the price.
However I would prefer aluminum for the much better heat transfer rate since I will not apply an oil cooler (preferably)
It is silver cad plated. Some were gold cad plated.
I don’t like this coating. It is not anymore state of the art and will be removed from the market more and more. There is a chance that some oil additives react with the cadmium to increase aging of the oil and pamper potentiell corrosion.
Anyway just received the news that Patrick Stef is working on my pan 😎…
