cooling fan relays

Hi guys I have a 73 pantera with minor grades to cooling system has stock rad.no cooling issue up till now,can't get the Maira fans to work.stock relays have three prongs on relays this one has 4 all with wires attached, how do i test this relays all fuses are good.or am I barking up the wrong tree.

steve, I don't grasp the exact details of what is going on.

to begin to answer your question, the original 3 wire relays have an internal connection for the coil current to the contact current. where a "standard" 4 wire relay has the two coil terminals and the two contact terminals. thus to use a 4 wire relay in a 3 wire circuit, a jumper is need to make an external connection

I made a different solution.

I took out the old internals,had the old relay bodies replated in yellow passivate.

then fitted a modern Bosch relay inside it.

You have the look of originality with reliability.

Did you try to include using the original base and terminals? thus fully hiding the bosch

No I didn't, its impossible to see the base of the relays so I didn't think it worthwhile.
