#8182 is a right hand drive GT5 originally sold by the UK De Tomaso distributor Emelia Concessionaires, run by the late Dick Puxty. I do not have a record of the first owner, but it was eventually purchased in the UK by by Rob Reynolds, who then exported it to South Africa. The car was reportedly in very poor condition, and Reynolds began a very expensive restoration on it. When he later immigrated to Australia, he brought the car with him and finished the restoration there. The car was displayed in the Launceston Motor Museum in Tasmania where it was found by the last owner for whom I have information, Frank Foster of Tasmania, Australia. The car was then sold in 2022 at a Shannon's auction for $245,000 (I'm not sure if this was Australian or US dollars).

Having an 8000 series VIN makes this a very interesting car, which is a whole other discussion because the factory may have used these VINs for wrecked, rebuilt by the factory and then sold as "new" cars.

As for the paint code, there is no assurance that the current colour of the car is the original colour because we know the car was rebuilt and presumably repainted by Mr. Reynolds. Therefore, even if we had the original PPG paint decal for this car, it would not help. However, if you own #9373 and want to return it to factory original, then I can confirm from the late Marcel Schaub's records that the factory colour was argento. There are others on this forum who will have experience matching up that colour with modern and readily available paints.
