i'm interested myself.... the ones i got were some "chinese" duplicates and sure in the rear for the '70 models... which are alot wider then on a GT5S. Seems those shapes are more "box" , while the GT5S has a smaller tailgate and ofcourse widens up with the flares. Didn't see it myself at first glance but look at the badges "Detomaso" and "Pantera"...on the '70 cars there's alot space for them, on a GT5S it is just enough.....Should measure it once, does this mean we have also a different, smaller ? deck lid ??

Now anyway , i liked the thinner '70 bumpers compared to the originals euro which are more bulcky....they give a nicer view on the tailgate , more as if there were no "bumpers"...just some "accent" lines. So we took a piece out of the middle , rewelded them, some filler, and paint...and i'm satisfied with the result.Even the corners on them seems to follow the body lines.

i just have the feeling that there are NO GT5S bumpers duplicated...owell, who would make them for a car of which 187 are EVER build ???? how many do remain...? So the add you show is also misleading i'm afraid, if they fit a '70's , it won't work on a GT5S.

but then again, no complaining, as i did works well and no big deal ....and the result is a finer bumper then the stock GT5S ones which are also 2 part but "bulcky" IMHO.... when i ever get time i even go true the front ones that can be better adapted also for perfect fit.( grind them to follow more the body lines and radius out to the fenders... )

Ofcourse all original , changed bumpers are in the US i think... IF someone ever got them spared from scrap....don't think those US bumpers were factory installed in Italy on demand ???? or i'm i wrong ???

I have not compared them side by side, they are close to the GT5/5S style, not an exact copy. The only difference in the earlier and later cars in the rear is the width of the licenses plate area.

I have a set of reproduction GT5 bumpers (in addition to my originals seen on the car), I'm not sure who made or supplied them though.

thanks ! now i see the pics from Amerisport ...we could have indeed the same decklid , it's the wide of the license plate recess that differs.... one see it clear compared to the wide of the AC radiator grille. From there the different room for the badges....
Now those "could" be right, they clear that grille.... just need to check further as a GT5S plate recess is even wider then the grille !

and...are the A/C grills the same ??? Roll Eyes Big Grin
My 1979 GTS came with the large Euro bumpers and wide euro license plate indent ...the bumpers pretty much line up though ... my undertanding from the factory when my car was shipped they added American style bumpers once in the US ... i did find a NOS set of bumpers of which I;m told they were the same as the GT5 style. Upon reinstalling them I found the old holes in the exact location and the new one fit right on.
