For a 44 year old Autolite/Motorcraft carb and an iron spreadbore intake? Maybe you could show him a Boss 351 spec sheet and tell him thats the model of engine you have. Bosses used an aluminum intake and a Holley 650 carb, for which you have a decent chance at tuning for real road conditions.
E.I. hi
well guess you not talk TÜV, as they should not really care fo this features, if they do go for an other place.
I guess you tlak about the certificate of originallity to get the Oldtimer status? This is more tricky. You need to find a garage which has experience to handles this issue, do NOT go TÜV yourselve, they give you all kinds of BS as they DO NOT KNOW. Doing the same thing with my 1967 C2 Corvette.

Bosswrench TX fo info on the Aluminium intake on Boss, as I converted my Turbo Jet on a European GTS to Edelbrock, runing by the way a Holley 4160 List 1850-3 guess 600cfm only. Also not original I guess as it came with 4150 R47777 650 cfm to my insight.

The GTS/Gr-3 option available in Europe and the middle/far east.australia came with the Holley direct from DeTomaso. There were a whole range of such options including 4 Webers on a DeTomaso intake, direct from the factory in Italy. NOT available in the U.S from Ford. If your TUV inspector sees the 40-yr-old catalogue, that may satisfy him, unless he's looking for a reason to assert his authority. This happens now and then with non-elected officials. Go to anders.hellburg@scuderiadetomaso.se which is the Gr-3 registry in Sweden. The catalogue should be there for download, or I have pdf copies of two versions. Let me know offline at jderyke@aol.com if you have trouble with anders' website in swedish. Good luck.
