I am starting to install heater hoses and trying to figure out routing at the front of the engine. I have seen photos of them going over and around the alternator. Do they go behind the AC compressor? The heater hose in the photo below is a temporary bypass hose that returns to the water pump. Please disregard it.

Look for a PM with some pics and comments.
Thanks Larry. That was very helpful.
Nice clean engine bay!
Thanks Chuck.
I routed the hoses around the alternator and compressor, and then behind the bracket for ac tensioner pulley. They turned out nice.
Next I tested the heater and found a leak in the heater control valve.
I found the posting from LarryW that explains how to fix the valve and will likely give it a try. Larry, is your fix still holding a seal?

A replacement for your valve was recently discovered. See here:
The repair was to a friends car and is still holding I'm told.
The trick with that was adjusting the packing nut to seal without putting too much drag on the shaft, of course the shaft must be shiny smooth.
If it does decide to drip, tightening the packing nut slightly should fix it.
