I was trying to replace the hood release cable today, had taped the cable from the old to the cable from the new one to pull it through, unfortunately, they came un-taped. I see where it goes through the cowl grille but can't figure out where it enters the interior of the car. I am thinking it comes through the cowl, and enters into the wheel well?? Pictures??

Thanks

From your serial #, you may have gotten lucky! In '73-up, Ford redesigned the grille so it can be taken off from the outside. Once off, follow the instructions in the TSBs for opening the front hood manually. Also, many owners have Ford's short supplemental cable that comes through a small added hole in the toebox and hangs above the accelerator pedal. Both were added in case the long cable broke in service. And finally, if you make the secondary access cable hole an inch or so OD and plug it with a plastic plug, the toebox hole will also serve as access for the difficult clutch master cylinder pin removal.
