As a new member of the Pantera community, my first duty is to get my Pantera in proper running condition. OK, I jest but I am doing that. My second duty is to organize my first planned event. I obtained permission from Ford to hold a Pantera Marque Day on March 5 at the famous Irvine Cars & Coffee. I imagine most who visit this thread know all about C&C. We will have the corral reserved for 40 lucky Pantera owners. Weather permitting, March 5 is the perfect day. The following week, daylight savings time is observed which makes the sun rise one hour later- not good for a car meet that gets going by 6:30 am. I am providing my personal email address to keep a list of those who RSVP me to be one of the 40 who will get to be part of this historic group of Panteras. My email address is... tropicaldreemz@gmail.com. I will respond to all with details on how we will fill the corral.

Now, I rarely see a Pantera on the roads of SoCal. The only place I regularly see a few Panteras is at C&C. It's the 40th anniversary of the Pantera ladies and gents. We have space for 40 cars. Yes, this is karma. Get your fixit list going on your awesome Panteras to get them in running order in time to participate. Also, we will be providing boxes to collect toys for our annual Toys-4-Tots charitable event in December. The general toy guideline is a toy valued at around $10 but no stuffed animals. Gentlemen and gentleladies, start your engines! Steve

So far, I have 14 Panteras confirmed and on the list of 40, a good start! Here are a couple of details for this fun event...

=> Arrival preferred NLT 6:30 AM but your space will be saved up till 7 AM
=> A short road trip will commence afterwards (~9:30 am) for all who want to join in to our destination at Crystal Cove for breakfast and/or coffee at Pacific Whey Cafe and Starbucks (both next to each other). As some know, this was the place where C&C used to be held- an awesome location with an ocean view and lots of parking.
=> Bring a toy valued at $10, unwrapped and no stuffed animals. This is to support TPOC's Toys-4-Tots toy drive event for December.

I will be contacting each participant via email as we approach March 5 to confirm participation. I fully expect to fill all 40 reserved spaces. Additional Pantera owners can come. They'll simply have to manage in the general show lot and park as spaces are available. I look forward to seeing you all there.

You can PM me with this info or send it to my email address.... tropicaldreemz@gmail.com

I will be posting details soon. Thanks for your interest.

Here are some details and a plan for the C&C Pantera Day...

=> Date: Saturday, March 5

=> Arrive: Between 6-6:15 AM but no later than 6:30 AM

=> Address: 7905 Gateway, Irvine (next to Mazda building in the north parking lot of Ford's former west coast HQ)

=> Parking: You have the option of pulling into your parking space nose-in or nose-out. I imagine those with detailed engine bays will want to park their car nose-in. It is customary for show cars to park nose-out.

=> Bring at least one unwrapped toy (no stuffed animals) valued at $10
Note: You are welcome to donate as many toys as you like

=> Following the show at around 9:30 AM or so, anyone interested can join those going for breakfast to Pacific Whey Cafe located in the Crystal Cove Promenade, sight of the former C&C venue. This will be a short (12 mile) but fun road trip heading west on Laguna Canyon Drive (route 133) and then north on PCH for 3 miles to the Crystal Cove shopping center.

Note: Sunrise on March 5 will be 6:17 AM

Here is a street map of where the show lot is located

The corral is located ON THE RIGHT as you enter the driveway into the parking lot from Gateway. The driveway to the show lot is located between the Mazda building and the former Ford HQ building. Pantera signs, courtesy of Ford, will be posted to identify the corral area. For spectators, C&C officially runs from 7-9 AM. However, many get there before sunrise. Those bringing a show car typically arrive well before 7 AM to ensure a parking spot and to get one they like. In order to be ready for the public and to allow time to park your Pantera, please arrive before 6:30 and preferably between 6-6:15.

I am asking those bringing their Panteras to donate one toy in support of our Toys-4-Tots donation drive. See the note above for toy donation guidelines. Within the next week or so I will be sending an email to each participant to confirm attendance and help coordinate those interested in caravanning with others. Please contact me for any questions you may have. See you there!

Update: As of today, I reached the goal of 40 Panteras signed-up to attend! However, at least one car is a 'maybe' due to repairs underway. Also, the corral has parking for 41 cars plus one more spot that I refer to as the "pedestal", a service ramp and a pretty nice place to park. So, without stacking cars (something I prefer not to do), we can actually accommodate 42 cars inside the corral.

If you haven't contacted me yet and want to join the dedicated Pantera parking area, I can put you on the standby list. I may get one or two no-shows but also some last minute show-ups. As I already mentioned, should the corral be filled with 42 Panteras, others can simply park in the main display lot so long as they arrive early enough to ensure parking.

Beverly Hall of Hall Pantera was kind enough to provide placards to place on your dash to indicate the specs of your Pantera, a nice touch. As for me, Purgold (now Purr oro) will be making her debut on March 5. Can't wait to see everyone's Pantera and meet all the new faces. Time to start detailing your cars.
