When I removed my engine I removed the engine from the mounts and left the mounts in the engine compartment. Therefore, I plan to install in the reverse order. Mounts in chassis first, then lower the engine onto them. I'll see if that works as planned in a couple weeks when I do the install.

Attach the upper part to the block and the lower part to the frame, and install the single bolt, through the donuts, from below.
Dave is right, just re-installed my motor. The fuel pump is in the way when you try and set the motor on the upper part of the mount. It is also very difficult to align the four block holes compared to the two with the mounts. I had to temporarily set my motor on the pads and then move the chains back because my lift would not extend far enough without hitting the back of the car. That would have been almost impossible to do with the thin four hole mounting surface. Also helps to have a longer, thinner bolts or some thing to align the holes before you insert the final bolts.

Pay very close attention to the dizzy if you install it before you drop your motor in or you will be replacing your rear glass.
