Anyone else ? This is the second one in six years. I drive over 500 miles a month.

I have extra grounds all over this thing ( bad grounds are root of all evil ).

I double triple checked everything. I can't bench test the module and all this is starting seem familiar. Anyone else cooking 8350's ?

Many Sparks Denied

(personal fan of Duraspark ignitions)

Paul, if I had 10 cents for every dead MSD I've heard about, I'd have enough for a very expensive steak dinner ... and maybe a weekend at a posh hotel. Same goes for the Accel Unilite.

I know I'm stepping on toes. I feel the hate already! Smiler I've been stepping on toes every once in a while for over a decade. You know I love you guys. I don't mean anything by it, I'd buy you a beer (or a Scotch) if we lived nearby.

How many complaints have any of you read about Duraspark failures? The MSD distributor can be utilized with a Duraspark module. All you would need is a wiring harness, module & coil. I would also suggest a relay to provide power for the ignition. My friend Doug did a report about his conversion last year.

Msd 8477/Duraspark I conversion

By the way, I mounted the module for 6018 in the front boot. I figure considering the heat of the engine compartment, if Ford engineers had installed Duraspark in the Pantera, they would have installed it in the front boot.
Yeah, all three of those options look better that a tow strap tour every two years.

That John Haas piece is wild ! That thing is really nice.

I sent my 8350 back, I'm going to let them fix it again. I did buy a duraspark I module off ebay also, so I will get a new/better system together....

Thanks for the advice you guys Thumbs Up!
MSD is terrible man, just terrible! I called to confirm the mailing address for the service dept to have my 8350 fixed AGAIN. The guy tells me the address and then tells me it will cost anywhere from 25 to 115 bucks.

What he failed to tell me is that an RMA is required, and if you fail to get an RMA your unit is "set aside". SET ASIDE ???
I just called to check on my 8350 and the girl said "no if you don't have an RMA they won't work on it".
I put a letter in the box asking them to inspect, test and repair my 8350 and to call me for payment when done.
They received it on the 22nd, the guy told me they try to get them back to you in ten days or less.
So because I sent them a billet distributor for a $100 repair and did not include an RMA, they have not even touched it.
I have been without my car since the 22nd (before that actually), they could/should have called me.

Terrible business model.

Terrible customer service policy.

Terrible distributor.

Never again man. I will build a duraspark or try another brand, it couldn't possibly be any worse.

MSD = "May Suspend Delivery"

MSD decals are banned from my shop fridge, banned from the shop personnel door and banned from any file cabinets.

I will run it my car until I build a new one, and I will not sell it on this site ( may not be able to). I will ebay it with a sentence or two about my poor experience with it.
