Mic,
I'm going to claim victory here since Rubén Vela's Aston Martin DB-One concept is not even a full-size car, but just a styling model. Pretty damn beautiful car, however. Nice one!
BTW, the green car is Italian...
Speaking of great looking cars...

One other observation, I have yet to see a post with more views than this one. Way to go Mic!
Did you ever find anything about this race car TIA ? could it be a 1963 Aston-Martin Cooper?
Hey Panttera,
The fan shroud sticking through the hood is very Porsche-like (though facing 'rearward' from how it'd normally be), with what appears to be twin banks of triple-barrel Weber IDAs or Solex sticking up on either side. Anyone know of a Porsche-engined open wheel entry of this vintage?

I never imagined "Thanks In Advance" would be this far advanced...
I recently discovered that this is a two-engined Porsche entered (twice?) in the Indy 500 in the late 60's. Sponsered by Valvoline, it never qualified, so very little information was ever recorded on it's efforts.
This photo shows another pit shot-you'll notice the covers off the Solexes (Good call A Hudson)
I'm sure that's a constant thing with 12 throats to adjust with 2 motors.

You can easily tell by the bright Valvoline colors that this one is in the late 60's
It's just like (us) slot racers of that (and this) era to pick such an obscure car to go to all that effort to mold a body of.
I'll post a shot of the car when completed, and we'll see how close I got..............Ron

Thanks for the torment, Ron! Do you have any idea how many hours I scoured the net to figure out what that was? I figured it had two engines, but never clued to the Porsche connection (good observation Adams!).
Thanks for identifying it and putting me out of my misery!
The car was built by Al Stein of San Francisco in 1966 for the Indy that year, but he failed to qualify.
I see you're not the only one with obscure slot-car taste! You know these guys?

Believe it or not, this is reputed to be Al Stein's inspiration for the design. I won't torment you all with making you try to figure out what this is. It was the Fageol Supersonic and it featured two 4 cylinder Offenhauser engines. Unlike the Porsche, it qualified second for the 1946 Indy 500 but crashed after only 16 laps.

Wow......
You discovered owner and year information, which I was never able to.......And you discover a picture of a perfectly detailed body (decals etc.) for the one I'm working on....THANK YOU!
I've seen pics of the blue one,but it's not an authentic/vintage paint job.
I've been slot racing in the S.F. bay area since the 60's, and all my slot cars (except the vintage ones) bear 4744's Yellow/Black (High Visibility) paint jobs.
A nearby track in Rohnert Park, Cal. fulfills my need for speed, even if it's only in 1/24th scale.

Here goes, it took quite a while to figure out this one, coz at first i was looking for a Comet, but that only gave me Mercury, (Olds sold the name to Mercury in the late 50's and this car has Oldmobile styling, so I guess it is a 1959 design (it seems to have only one seat) of a would be 1961 Oldsmobile Starfire Station Wagon. Am i right?
