Not gonna be easy to find this Mangusta part...

I recntly bought a French magazine, all about the Mangusta from 1969, and noticed in the above average photos that there was a chrome strip around the headlight bezels.

I clawed through my own personal inventory of photos, and found this, courtesy of Steve L. Most Mangustas I have seen have this missing or painted black (sometimes I can't tell)

Anybody know where I can find this, or something similar from another car?

It is actually possible to reproduce, unlike some other Mangusta parts, so I hesitate to call it the Holy Grail, but it would be easiest to find a source.

By the way, notice that it doesn't go all the way around.

Hi Jay, It is a small stainless trim 2mm x 1mm and yes as weird as it seems it does not go all the way around. Will see what I can find & get a better pic tomorrow.


ps set-up headlamps, then parklights and then headlamp doors and finally the grill.

Thank you, and I will take a pic for future reference of everybody.

The routing of the turnsignal wire out from behind the headlight, through a hole, and then down to the top of the turnsignal is a little tricky. Plus, at least on my car, the turnsignals are held on with American screws (10-24) as are a few other parts on the front of the car. It seems like the weld on nuts on the car use American 10-24 sizes (grille, lower grille, turnsignals) and the weld on studs are all 5mm. Your results may vary!

I have long wondered what the 'highlights' were on the front of 4 light cars, interesting that so many seem to be missing now. Were they mechanically fastened, or possibly just adheared into place?

Jay, the parts in your photo look large, but if they're not headlight trims I don't know what else they could be on a Goose! Regards, Nate

Here is a pic of the trim on a headlight bezel. (from the bottom looking upward) The trim is held to the bezel using three of the four screws that attach the bezel to the front of the car. If you look at the pic, the holes line up for the screws to go through into the body.

Also, both the headlight bezel and the trim have the car serial number stamped on them. You can barely see it at the top of the bezel in this pic.
