Pantera Gas Tank for sale

I have a gas tank out of a 71 or 72 Pantera for sale. It has some light rust on the outside but is still solid and useable. Has the sender unit and all. As it sits, it has a locking gas cap on it and I do not have the key. Make an offer, Pictures avail soon.

Is there any call for a fabricated Aluminum or stainless tank? I could make copies if anyone is interested.

Most pantera vendors sell a Stainless tank, so it would likely come down to price of yours vs. theirs.

Is there much weight saving with aluminum or does the wall thickness have to go up? Can you make a rated aluminum fuel cell?

I doubt there is much of a weight savings w/alum. Originally some of the early cars had an aluminum tank.My car came with one.

In your mind, what would be a good offer….I have seen the prices all over the map..

I am going to have the tank cleaned and then powder coated on the outside..

I have a 1972 1/2 ( blue)and I live in Austin Texas...
going to pull motor..mite as well place in modified and cleaned tank.....
