I am not sure which part you are looking for. Lloys at RBT did repair mine.
this is an older post but since you are in the EU
New RBT-5 DS-25 (ZF) main case, gear housing & side covers | GT40s
That's the stronger, M1 style housing, mentioned in the posting above.
Hi Denis,
unfortunately, I can‘t see your photo.
My housing was damaged pretty badly.
I don‘t think it could be easisly repaired by welding.
The clutch pressure plate cracked and ripped away parts of the bell housing flange. Also, all threaded holes connecting the bell housing were destroyed.
I have reloaded the picture. Looks like the same break.

I think this case can be fixed!!!
… you have all the missing pieces??
Germany has fantastic craftsmen ! You will find a very good welder who can fix that! (call Car restoration shops)
I would clean the parts, Put the bell housing with the part onto the transmission so the crack fits perfectly together and spot Weld it a few times (some inside some outside)…
then I would grind a V 3cm at a time where the crack is and TIG weld it up! Easy does it!! The threads can be welded up and re-trimmed and threaded!
Some can be welded from the inside (outer parts) , so in the end, you could give the outside a little cleanup where the crack was And a little sandblasting in that area… Just to hide the Frankenstein effect a little bit…
That’s how I would approach it…

Hi LeMans850i,
Yes I found almost all of the fragments.
I‘m certain you‘re right and it could be fixed. But I reckon it would be quite a job with the risk that the housing would never be as robust as it was originally.
I would feel more confident replacing the housing.
Try contacting Les Gray. He works on these transaxles and has some parts.
I have a spare main housing, but for now dont like to sell.
I was looking for a Dash1 , and for now I want to keep the mainhousing for a possible trade on a Dash1
Simon
You could call Wilkinson, he has his new GTT ZF Transaxles that it is possible you could buy a totally new improved stronger case than stock from him.
I forgot, Wilkinson is closed on Monday.

I think you Underestimate what welding can do…. And how strong it is…. I would fix it now regardless if you’re gonna keep it or if you’re gonna change the insides over…
if the break surface itself gets distorted - hit , you never gonna get it back proper again..
in another 50 years, people are gonna dig your grave up to get their hands on it!
Thanks everyone for your support, I will call Wilkinson.
Also, I will discuss the option to weld my housing with the guys who are disassembling the gearbox and will have to put it back together again.
Can anyone tell me if the geometry of the 5DS-25-2 housing has changed over the years? Or, would any housing of that type fit my gearbox?
