David, without a LOT more information, it is very hard to say.

There seems to be a reasonable premium paid for solid, unmolested and very original Panteras. A slight premium also for Push-button cars, but putting a percentage on that is very hard since so few Panteras are easily comparable. If the car in question is a rusted, modified and repainted car then it being a Push-button won't be enough to save its value. I follow DeTomaso market prices fairly closely, but am no oracle. Ultimately the market decides anyway.

I to was always wondering how much my Pantera was # 1241.....Push button w/ the body indentation as well. I know that when it was brought over however FORD had changed the vin to a newer one with a "fake" looking plate over the original stamped # that then made it #04185. I also have the door jam rear deck lid handle, and front hood grills w/ the screws as I am told is worth something.

Not exactly common practice and it may not have been Ford that was responsible. At least one other Pantera was treated similarly- the factory racing GT-4 #2342 has two 'factory' serial numbers, the change being officially acknowledged by the factory many years ago. See PI magazine of Fall 2004 #120- "Unsolved Mysteries Solved!" for the full story on the racer's serial number controversy.

That car is now known as 2824/2342 in some European racing records dating back to 1972. Your car may be more rare for this uncommon 'feature' than for being a pushbutton!
