I went this route and am quite happy with them. I did have to have them polished myself. I can also say that installing a couple of the nuts and washers was a MAJOR PIA! If you have a small child with the dexterity in their hands to do it you're set. Otherwise you'll be busting out the surgical instruments to do it. I found that a set of forceps with a curved tip allowed me to get the nuts started, but it took several trys and I forever lost a couple nuts into the gaps in the car.

Here's a "retype" of the article I saw... POCA Newsletter, April 1988, Pg 7.

quote:
TIRED OF LOSING those hard-to-install clips that hold the DETOMASO and PANTERA emblems on the rear fascia of your Pantera?

SIMPLE: just take a die (I used an 8-32) and CAREFULLY thread the little metal studs that go through the holes in the bodywork. Go slowly, as the metal is soft. After you're done, simply install them back on the car with the correct nut and a small lock washer. They will not rattle, and no more lost clips! (Submitted by Kirk Gerbracht)

PS> Steve - after looking at it more closely, I see what you mean, but I think maybe the rear access on my car (5357) may have more room under the back piece in the engine bay? It was relatively straightforward to get my fingers in there....
