All,

Just installed the ZF for the second time in a month, please don’t ask.
Installing the bolts for the U joint/CV axles has always been a physical stretch (Go go Gadget arms!!) and an accessibility-frustrating endeavor. Those eight ZF flange bolts are a PITA.   Working from the top you need to have the axles free to rotate, which means jacking up the car to place jackstands. Getting the car high enough to get two standard jackstands underneath just makes the task more difficult.
Additionally, all that is needed is for the tires to be raised off the floor, but jackstands generally provide much more height than required for that
This time around I have devised a redneck jackstand that is easy to position and remove.
This works with my 335 17 inch tires. It leaves the rear tires barely 1 inch above the floor. Different wheel heights will change the dimensions, but the principle will remain the same.
I put a handle on it for easy carrying, and an eye-hook on each end so I can snag it from underneath using my all-purpose garage hook-pole.
It can serve its duty in various locations at the rear. I have yet to use it in a similar manner for the front end, but I am hopeful it will also work for the front.
