Oil pump spring ? I know this subject has been beat to death, but has anyone attemped to change the Melling 48 A oil pump spring to the Moroso high pressure spring ? There is a freeze out style plug to remove. Anyone know how to remove it. Should I drill it pull it and get a new one. If thats required why is it not with the spring ??
Drill a small hole in the center of the plug & use a dent puller (slide hammer).

Thanks ! I took care of it on sunday, and the autoparts store was open just in time to get a new freeze type plug to put back. It worked out great... I guess I was just a little anxiuos to get the HD pump, the HDdrive, the girdle , studs and the 10 qt pan back on. Thanks for your help. Soon it goes on the dyno.
