Does anyone know what the difference is between Slave Cylinder Bracket Type 1 and Slave Cylinder Bracket Type 2 ?

Don’t think there is a difference between the brackets, but there was a difference between the arm levers. Study this exploded diagram, and you will see the early version had the return spring anchor-point welded to the arm, while later versions had the same function fulfilled by a bracket bolted to the arm.

Parts books show different part numbers for type 1 transaxle and type 2 transaxle. I do not know what the difference is but I would guess that the mounting points to the bellhousing may be different.
Forest is correct. There is a slight difference in the mounting.
