It is a shame there is The DeTomaso Archives site with its prehistoric email chain (which for some reason no administrator ever responds to about new members that wish to join) which is ongoing sharing a lot of good info. Why is it not the case those that author and respond (many of whom are on this site) continue to proliferate over there and not simply use this forum?

That is a good question…. I find this site to be more organized, and easier to find information…
If you want to talk about absent administrators, we can certainly ask what has happened to the administrator of this forum. 🤷
Usually by now we have an announcement from George about his upcoming presence at the Concorso Italiano, but this year it has been nothing but crickets. I’ll be attending Concorso so I’ll let you know if George appears.
As for your question about why people still use the email list, you’re asking someone that still has his original AOL email address. Out of habit I am on the email list and on this formum, both of them for over 20 years. They each have different groups of people and are social outlets for those that participate.
having two sources, plus the Facebook groups of which I am relatively a new participant, offer multiple sources for parts and information. The more sources, the better the results.

Some folks prefer all the emails, some prefer a daily email digest, others like a forum, habit is hard to break. A lot of us frequent both...
Well I have “attempted” to register for the site about 15 times and never received the confirm email nor do my attempted emails work to the site…………
I just tried registering and it worked for me. I got an email right way, but it was sent to my junk email folder. I will let you know if everything works for me. Larry
Let me share a couple of basics on the Email List if you decide to join.
you can elect to receive every email that everyone sends as they send it. Or you can elect to receive a digest of the emails and select the ones that interest. Or you can elect to receive no emails, which is my choice. There is a real time archive of the email list that I visit to keep up-to-date and keep my Email inbox clear. archives are grouped by each months entries, so if you bookmark the archive view, you will have to update at the beginning of each month. The only strange aspect of the archives is all of the Email photos are grouped at the very bottom of each post rather than in the body of the email.
