We took a cruise yesterday and ended up at a Wendy's Drive Inn for a pit stop. The large parking lot was virtually deserted and we parked off in "no man's land". While inside eating, a car pulls up and parks directly next to our cars. We're watching this and commenting about "of all the places they choose to park . . ." The car then reverses and then we notice the mother is in the passenger seat giving her son driving lessons directing him where to go. Of all places to teach him to park and with all of the open stalls she chooses next to a Pantera??? Beware, they are out there!

Back in 85' my wife and I (girlfriend back then) parked all alone in the pizza hut parking lot... as were having a stoned out munch fest, some white trash POS parked right next us and I watched him open the door of his green 74' newyorker right into the door of my wifes 67' Firebird convertible!... I laid into him to like no tomorrow, the manager called the cops and the guy split... I told the cops what happend and they said "hey, we understand but you can't threaten people"... As you can see, I'm still pissed about it!.. I still have the girlfriend (wife now) and we/she still have/has the car... I'll never forget that, I think of it just about every time I park a car...

I think a gun rack would fit snug and at home on the Pantera inside rear window.

I'm glad I didn't have a heater with me, back in my younger days I had a hard time showing restraint... I might still be in prison... Really though man, it's just height of stupid inconsideration!.. I never take the Firebird anywhere now... I hate to admit it but, I don't own the car, the car owns me... I run the hell out of my cat though..lol...

Well it happened again today! We went cruising with some of the local exotics. We stop to eat and one of the Ferrari's is parked next to an import pickup. There is a mile of space between the pickup and the Ferrari. A middle aged fat woman swings open the truck's door to it's hilt just short of hitting the side of the brand new Ferrari. She gets in without a second thought and they leave. There were all kinds of comments from the other patrons in the restaurant, apparently all had been watching. Beware, they are out there in larger numbers than we think!
My story:

The local Ferrari club met for breakfast before going to an event. A small group arrived early and parked way out in the parking lot so we could all park together. My Pantera was there (in a rare appearance outside the shop), two Diablos, a Maybach and a Ferrari.

For no reason, we left an open spot between two of the cars. Nature abhors a vacuum, so when the jacked-up POS Jeep arives there is only one logical place it to park...right in the middle of the row of exotics parked in the boonies.

Deep sigh.

R.
hey fourdoorbronco, i think the same lady tagged my pantera last weekend (swinging her door open).

she didn't leave a note, just a big dent.

it could have been her husband, but something tells me a guy would not do that to a 74 Pantera that's lowered with a big ol' wing on the back. i'm not sexist, just statistical and observant.

i dunno. it's a weird world.

fourdoor: nice cars, both of them!
my wife calls where i park, "Man Land."

it's that place out in the hinterlands of every parking lot.

i park my Audi there. my Pantera there. even my Toyota Highlander (hybrid) there. it's much less chaotic, and safer too (for the car). of course we have to then run the gauntlet of cars wildly backing out whilst their drivers thinking mirrors somehow steal their souls.

here's to Man Land. see you out there...
