A few questions on the two plugs. The one on the side is the fill and does it have a 7mm round hole in the inside middle. but with no magnet stalked in? The other plug in the pan (drain), does have the magnet, as it should? Lastly, did these two plugs have the outside centers, where the hex tool is inserted, painted and if so, what color?

Thanks for the information! Nice photos, thanks!!. One of mine is polished and another is acid cleaned. Perhaps you might check out my ( Threaded stud sealant post). I would be curious of your opinion?

You are correct.  The side plug is machined for a magnet but does not have one.  The bottom plug has the magnet.  Since it is a steel plug, it is painted to minimize surface rust over time.  Steel parts on the ZF were either painted black or left bare.
