50 sets total? uhhh...no. Doug and I would own >10% of total production if that was true; -not. They were available in the 86 and 87 Ford performance catalogue for $314.95 retail. They're a very novel part but sort of a pain to work with.

They were sand cast and were not tempered. You'll never achieve the level of polish/luster that you would with some of the die cast or sheet or wrought alloys. Sand cast stuff will oxidize much faster and be more susceptable to staining due to the porosity.

They're a nice part but sort of heavy as far a VCs go. Nice simple clean appearance. They are sand cast as well. They're nice and rigid and thick enough that you can CNC engrave on top or sides.
