While watching the latest Pantera for sale on BaT, VIN locations were discussed endlessly. One person indicated that the last four digits are also stamped somewhere in/on the headlight bucket. I looked and can't find it on mine. Do any of you know this?

Where are the numbers located. I've owned my car for 42 years and know the car has never been wrecked by me or the first owner. I had it repainted twice, stripped to bare metal the second time so it seems the numbers would be visible if I looked at the right place. Would I have to remove the headlight?

These markings are everywhere small on a goose--meaning, not the big pieces (hood, doors) but on small things. And often mixed mixed up from other cars.
Pushbutton #1313 had the stampings in the headlight buckets, the doors, the splash shields, and other places. However, they saved a little time and money by only stamping 313 and left off the leading 1. They also used a substantially larger font than in the photos above.
If it's not too much trouble, can you post photos of the VIN stamps with enough background to identify the location. I'm interested in finding them all.

My buckets are stamps approximately in the same location as rlee63a4 shows. My headlight buckets are assembled so I can't take any photos, sorry.
I was thinking that some stamps are easily visible if you know where to look. i already know where the headlight bucket stamps are located based on the rlee post.

Tom, My car is in storage and not easily accessible so I can't be of much help at this time. Hopefully someone else will be able to provide more info.

My Pantera is in storage because it's going through a complete ground up rebuild and, unfortunately, I just don't have any time to work on it now. Much of the work has been done. It needs to be assembled. I have a Suburban and a Cadillac CT4-V as daily drivers.
1744 has the numbers 744 stamped in the buckets
I’ll have to open mine up to see what’s stamped on mine, but I doubt I’ll find a surprise
