Windshield trim

I'm replacing my windshield and rubber, but would like to NOT use the trim. Is there another option other than the glue in windshield conversion? Perhaps weatherstrip that does not require the trim? Has anyone tried anything? Thanks

Sure- just leave off the stainless trim. The stock black windshield rubber has slots in it for the trim, but from 5 ft away, the slots are invisible. I have never understood the motivation of guys that take the shiny stainless windshield trim, powder-coat it black, then struggle to mount it on the black rubber gasket..... My trim went on the garage shelf in 1989, when I repainted the car. Just don't throw them away; cost of replacement is very high.

I believe the trim you are looking for is available used at PI Motorsports, Inc. I don't know what the price is. They have an early car that is parted out.
