WTB - Dipstick Tube

Lemme check my parts bin. I know I have two dipsticks and one dipstick tube that's in two pieces where the extension joins the one going into the block. I don't know the status of the other one. You can have it and just cover the shipping. I went the route the Larry did with the custom dipstick from Lokar.

...Here's how to get that Broken piece out!
It is NOT Pressed in, it slips in. Do NOT use an 'Easy-Out'!! You'll just swag it in, Tighter!

Get Yourself a piece of welding rod or Thick Copper wire; aprox, 1/16 Inch, No larger; so you can bend a (180 Degree)Hook on the end with a Radius Small enough to slide Down Inside!(That portion of the Tube goes into the Block 6 to 8 Inches. And Be Very Cautious You Don't Push the 'Tube' Farther into the Block)(Bend a 'T' Handle on the other end, of the wire To Grab, so if it slips out of Your Hand, It doesn't drob down inside the Engine and Compound Your Problem!) You want to 'Hook' the Inside/Bottom LIP of the tube...Wiggle it Slightly, left, right, forward, aft. Give the Wire Short-Stout 'Yanks' as You Pull STRIGHT-UP! It should come out provided some Machinist didn't 'Crimp' it on the inside. You only need to bring the tube Out far enough to grab it with Vise-Grips! WD-40 Always Helps!!

For those with a Oil Leak there, at the tube and Block...The next time You Remove the Tube Be sure to Slide a 3/8" Neoprene Rubber 'O' Ring onto it, at that Point, before You Reinstall it!

It worked for Me!...

I'll get back to you on the dipstick tube. I'm still having my coffee this morning and haven't started on my chores in the garage.

Don't worry about it. Thanks to Marlin's suggestion, and some 3/8" steel fuel line, I have it fixed.

Was able to cut the tube above the first splice, fab a new splice, and braze in the fuel line. Also brazed in a collar where the tube enters the block for a stopper. Now it is stronger that new!

...You may Have to 'REcalibrate' the Oil Level 'Marks' on the DipStick!...

It should be pretty close, I measured and made a template before I cut it up.

Glad you fixed it. I'll go ahead and throw the dipstick tube back in the 'parts bin'.

Another suggestion for those that show up at this thread later. I made mine out of 3/8 stainless tubing. Then tig welded a small washer and grounded it down to create the stop into the block. I then welded a small tab onto the tube that created the support that mounts to the valve cover bolt. Here are some pics.
