Here is a closer shot of the Polished Stainless ZF Vent Tube you can purchase. I got mine from Precision Proformance.

While it is a nice piece of bling for the engine bay, I have refrained from purchasing one for the followng reason -

When doing any serious engine work, I like to toss several thick (read that soft) old blankets on the ZF so I can crawl into the bay and just sit down and do my work. Having that nice, hard stainless pipe sticking up my you-know-what is not on my list of fun-to-do chores.

Two suggestions: Johnny Woods in England sells a neat little steel & wood platform that sits above any known vent system and is more comfortable than blankets over metal ribs in the cases. And when fooling with the stock vent, you'll soon find that the stock tube simply pushes in for a very loose press-fit. So to add a 3000psi-rated steel vent tube(!) the case must be drilled and tapped.... dropping metal shavings almost exactly into the ring & pinion gear mesh. HEAVY greasing of both drill and tap is necessary to minimize this but will not totally prevent it. Removing & opening the ZF to drill & tap will. IMHO, the only sensible thing about those vent systems is, in the very rare event of liquid coming out of the vent, it's routed away from the rear tires....
