ACCORDING TO THE MARTI REPORT
BUILT 1/72 SERIALIZED 11-08-72 RELEASED 11-07-72 AND SOLD 12-31-72
I HAVE THE ORIGINAL FORD WARRANTY CARD WHICH SHOWS THE SOLD DATE AS 12-31-72 TO A MARGRET A CONA OF WASHINGTON STATE. THE CAR WAS SOLD PACIFIC LINCOLN MERCURY IN SEATTLE WA AND STAYED IN WASHINGTON UNTIL I ACQUIRED IT.
ORIGINALLY A RED CAR AND RUST FREE. I HAVE PICTURE WHICH SHOWS THE CAR IN ITS ORIG COLOR AND AS IT UNDERWENT IT COLOR CHANGE AND DOOR HANDLE AND MARKER LIGHT DELETE. I HAVE THE DOOR HANDLES AND THE 4 MARKER HOUSINGS WITH THE LENS.
I HAVE BEEN OVER THE CAR EVERYWHERE WITH A MAGNET AND IT STICKS. I HAVE A VIDEO GOING OVER THE CAR WITH MAGNETS.
THE FLY YELLOW PAINT WAS DONE IN THE LATE 80'S TO THE EARLY 90'S FROM WHAT I CAN TELL AND WAS DONE VERY VERY NICE. ALL THE EXISTING CHROME IS IN GREAT SHAPE WITH EXCELLENT SHINE AND THE STAINLESS IS IN GOOD SHAPE WITH A FEW DINGS HERE AND THERE.
THE CAMPAGNELO RIMS ARE IN VERY NICE SHAPE WRAPPED IN COOPER COBRA REAR 295-50R15 AND FALKEN PRO G4 A/S 195-60R15 RUBBER IS ALMOST NEW SHAPE.
THE CALIPERS HAVE ALL BEEN REBUILT AND THE FRICTION WAS RE-USED AS IT HAD A LOT OF LIFE LEFT. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WORKS AND HOLDS. THE SUSPENSION, BUSHINGS, BALL JOINTS, TIE ROD ENDS AND STEERING RACK ARE ALL TIGHT AND SHE GOES STRAIGHT AND BRAKES STRAIGHT. ALL SUSPENSION COMPONENTS WERE CLEANED UP, DETAILED AND TOUCHED UP WITH PAINT.
THE UNDERCARRIAGE WAS WASHED DOWN WITH A GOOD STIFF BRUSH AND CAME OUT AS NICE AS IT LOOKS.
THE RADIATOR WAS TAKEN OUT AND CLEANED AND IS IN GREAT SHAPE, THE STEEL TUBES WERE BEAD BLASTED AND PAINTED WITH A CERAMIC PAINT, ALL NEW HOSES AND SS CLAMPS.
ENGINE IS ORIGINAL TO THE CAR # MATCH -- RAN OK HAD OK COMPRESSION BUT SMOKED SO OUT IT CAME, 6 STUCK OIL RINGS SO OFF IT WENT TO LRB PERFORMANCE IN NJ. I WANTED TO HAVE A STOCK DRIVER BUT WANTED TO WAKE IT UP A LITTLE SO A CAM WAS UPGRADED.
ORIGINAL HEADS WERE GONE THRU SS VALVES 3 ANGLE AND NEW GUIDES.
THE ORIGINAL CRANK AND RODS WERE TURNED .10 AND THE NEW PISTONS ARE .30 OVER.
COMP CAM 32-221-3 HYD AND LIFTERS YOU KNOW IT IS THERE
SPEED PRO RINGS R9903 - SEALED POWER MAIN BEARINGS AND CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS - MELING GEAR SET - AUTOLITE XP25 PLUGS - NAPA 43041 WATER PUMP - NAPA FLEET FLEX HOSE AND ALL STAINLESS STEEL CLAMPS - MSD BLASTER COIL - 8.5 MM WIRES - READY TO RUN BILLET DISTRIBUTOR AS I WANTED A RUN FREE MAINTANCE FREE ENGINE.
INTAKE IS AN EDELBROCK F351 WITH A HOLLEY ON TOP -- THE CARB WAS GONE THRU. THE CARB IS A MANUAL CHOKE SO IT IS WIRED OPEN AND WHEN YOU RUN AND ELECTRIC CHOKE YOU CAN DUMP EXTRA FUEL AND THAT'S NOT GOOD - SHE WARMS UP AND IDLES WITHIN A MINUTE
THE ENGINE HAD ABOUT 20 MILES ON IT WHEN THE LUCAS BREAK IN OIL WT. ZINC WAS CHANGED AND LUBRIGARD 15-40 AND A ZINC ADDITIVE IS IN THE ENGINE -- OIL / FILTER WERE CHANGED AT 100 MILES AND AT 300 AND THE FILTERS WERE CUT OPENED AND WERE CLEAN.
THE CLUTCH IS A MCLEOD 75110 AND THE ORIGINAL FLYWHEEL WAS CUT.
HEADERS AND EXHAUST WERE BEAD BLASTED AND REDONE
THE TRANS WAS OPENED UP AND INSPECTED AND IS IN GREAT SHAPE -- THE RING GEAR BOLTS WERE SAFETY WIRED AS IT HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE ZF -- WHEN TAKING THEY RING GEAR BOLTS OUT ALL WERE TIGHT.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS JUST WASHED, ALL FACTORY UNDERCOATING REMAINS.
THE DOOR HANDLE HAVE BEEN REMOVED BY A PREVIOUS OWNER AND THERE ARE POPPERS ON REMOTES AND AS A BACK UP AN EXTERNAL 2 WAY TOGGLE SWITCH TO DROP THE WINDOWS. SEATS AND DOOR PANELS WERE RECOVERS PROBABLY AT THE TIME OF THE TRANSFORMATION AND ARE IN NICE SHAPE AS A NEW CARPET WAS INSTALLED AND HOOD AND TRUNK DIAMOND PLEATED LINER. THE TRUNK INSERT WAS RECOVERED AT THAT TIME ALSO. THE SEAT TRACKS WERE REMOVED BEAD BLASTED, PAINTED AND A DELRIN WHEEL WAS USED AND THE SEATS MOVE GREAT.
OLD SCHOOL AM/FM CASSETTE RADIO BUT NO SPEAKERS, POWER ANTENNA WORKS
ALL GAUGES, WIPERS, WASHER, AND HEADLIGHTS HIGH AND LOW BEAMS, DIRECTIONALS, DASH LIGHTS, COURTESY LIGHT, HORN WORKS AND THERE IS AN AMG BATTERY AND BATTERY TENDER.
THE AIR CONDITIONING HAS AN UPDATED COMPRESSOR -- A SANDEN 7 SERIES WHEN YOU TURN IT ON THE MOTOR DOES NOT EVEN FLINCH AND YOU GET 38-40 DEGREES OUT OF THE VENTS. BALL VALVES WERE PUT ON THE FEED AND RETURN HOSES FOR THE HEATER CORE, THE HEATER CORE DOES NOT LEAK BUT MY GUESS WHEN YOU TURN OFF THE HEAT IT DOES NOT COMPLETELY TURN OFF AND I WAS NOT GETTING THE COLD NUMBERS I WAS HOPING FOR UNTIL I PUT THE VALVES ON AND STOPPED THE FLOW. IF YOU WANT HEAT YOU CAN REACH UNDER THE CAR IN FRONT OF THE REAR WHEEL AND TURN THEM ON.
ALL GLASS IS ORIGINAL WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE WINDSHIELD UPDATED AT SOME POINT PROBABLY AT THE TIME OF PAINT.
THE FLY YELLOW PAINT IS ** NICE** THERE ARE A FEW TINY ROAD CHIPS THAT HAVE BEEN TOUCHED UP THAT YOU CAN SEE WHEN YOU LOOK AT IT AT THE RIGHT ANGLE, NO CRACKING CRAZING OR PEELING IT IS THAT NICE 1 FOOTER.
SHE RUNS OUT VERY NICE - PLENTY OF POWER WITH A GOOD SOUND -- DRIVES STRAIGHT AND BRAKES STRAIGHT.
SO IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A - RUST FREE - CHROME BUMPER - FLY YELLOW PANTERA THAT WAS ORIGIONALY RED HERE YOU ARE.
