It is difficult to state a value without seeing the car in the raw. However, some general notes:
1) A Euro GTS is not as valuable as a U.S. spec GTS which always has the letters GT in the VIN number. Euro GTS cars don't have such labeling.
2) A Euro GTS is a performance car. Better engine, different ZF gearing, suspension and brakes. A U.S. GTS is only a cosmetic upgrade, not performance.
3) Do not consider a Euro GTS unless the seller can supply EPA and DOT releases since this is what is known as a 'gray market' car. Some insurance companies may rate a gray market car higher.
4) European cars are more susceptible to rust. Be careful. Have somebody knowledgeable check out the body very carefully.
5) Are you sure you want a GTS? Some people buy them because they think they are more valuable than a regular Pantera. In truth, the pop-riveted fender blisters turn off a lot of people while others adore them. Make sure you like them.
6) The car could be worth in the range you suggest, however, it will have to be prepared to a very high standard. In the 40-50K range, a buyer has a right to expect a car in very good condition.
Let us know if you buy the car or what happens. You can post the VIN # when you are done checking it out so that other interested parties can learn from your experience.
Cordially,
Dave Adler
