1986 GT5-S Engine Specs | The De Tomaso Forums

Hi... From what I know these late model 5S Aussie Clevelands came with 350hp from deTomaso. Does anyone know if they were supplied that way, or if deTomaso bumped them up? Are they 2 or 4 bolt blocks? Are they 2V or 4V heads (no 4 in the corners)? What is the compression ratio? Dished or flat top piston? CCs on the combustion chamber on the head? What kind of cam lift can I safely go with? Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

open the engine and you know for sure, the 4 into the corner of the head dont will say it's a 4 V head , also not with a point or not.

I'm not sure when the switch to Aussie Cleveland's occurred, but not all GT5-S cars came with the Aussie motor. Alejandro was infamous for charging for upgrades and installing a regular motor. Only way to really determine what you have is to tear it down or maybe a borescope inspection.

Julian, I agree, I also have seen GT5 with Aussie Clevelands .

Have notice Bosch distributors on the Aussie engines.

That probleby means that 9000 series Pantera's use 3 different type of engines.
