After lunch with Edsel Ford he was presented with a Pewter Pantera for his office too!

Police Escort then all the Way to Ford HQ. Again lights sirens and closing of the highway for us....8 police cars escorting 24 Detomoso's!

Clearing Customs to cross border.

3 Day event raised a ton of excitment for the city, for Ford Motor company and for our owners. Best of all we raised $10,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation! Great 3 day event!

yes he told a story meeting Alejandro as a kid. He also said he had a Pantera and it broke down on him going to Ohio one day....

Hhmm, "Welcome Ford Panteras". What an abomination, the Pantera was never a Ford IMO, it was a DeTomaso with a Ford engine sold by Ford because Ford couldn't come up with something as exotic themselves. But glad you had a good day...

What is the big deal about a Pantera and a police escort?

On numerous occasions I have had such a police escort, although with only one car, not multiple officers.

In most encounters they signaled they were so interested in the Pantera that they activated their pretty, colored lights in order to have a chat with me.

While the conversations have always been cordial I must say that these encounters have generally ended poorly.

In closing, I do not think Pantera-police encounters are that rare a thing.

However...... having them escort you and getting away with it all?

I really enjoyed the video clip of the officers acting like they had pulled the Pantera over. You could tell the officers were some really great guys.

Wish I could have joined you on the trip.
