Anyone interested in a group buy for a. 3,77 Ring and pinion? I would take care of the organization. Need 3 orders, but better price with 5 orders.

Depends on price.

There is someone in Europe (Peter Baschtarz?) that has had the ring & pinions fabricated I think from an improved metallurgy for racing application. But current ring & pinions don't fail often, so can you produce them for less than the $2500 they are now?
Should cost between 2000 and 2400 Euros. Top manufacturer. Checked most of them out. Just let me know if you have a real interest. No commitment at this stage.

Where they ever on the market? We heard a lot of announcements from that guy.
What is the advantage when you can buy a 3.77 R&P off the shelf for the same price?
Was quoted 2800 dollars plus shipping and custom duties. Roughly 3400 dollars.
We would face almost the same scenario shipped from Europe to the US, maybe reach out to the European owners on the Facebook De Tomaso parts groups?
There is also a reputable ZF rebuilder in the UK by name of Paul Fleming, maybe he carries spares or has access to an R&P duty paid if you are quick before Brexit!

Interested, depending on price!
Trying to achieve a price under 2000 Euros including taxes. The more orders we get, the lower the price. Will keep you posted.
I am in as long as it stayes below 2.000 euro incl tax.
Any updates or price?
Placed my order. Waiting to see the quality and fit before I can recommend them. Will be under 2thousand incl. taxes.
I will post my results a.s.a.p.
Ok sounds good, what is the time frame?

I was long time not here , sorry - we have 3.77 also on stock.
thanks
How much Peter?
Eugenio it depends on your needs. The highest grade is 2500 Euro. This is with a special surface and a better steel. But in Europe, we have some partners, who know how to setup the gearbox and we will follow the way, not selling the ring and pinions to "normal" persons. This quarantee the highest standart of workmanship, because the most important thing is the adjustment of the ring and pinion. Thanks for understanding.

Hi I am trying to find a 3.20 ring and pinion for a type-1. Does anybody have an idea where to get one in europe preferably?
I have sent emails to RBT and Peter Baschtarz (in Austria) and are awaiting answers.
Perhaps someone has a used one for sale?
Jan
It is best to call Lloyd at RBT over email, I think early morning is usually the best time to catch him.
thanks will try that 👍
What are you going to do with the regeared car? I know of one (owner that added a 3:20 R & P to a higher powered street car and managed to burn out two aftermarket clutches in a year. Not a good mod for the street. Bonneville or LeMans?
It will not be a problem in my case. The transaxle for which I need the 3.20 r&p is a type-1 and low geared 2,42-1,47-1,09-0,96-0,84 and the 3.20 will be very similar to my type-2 with the 3.77 2,23-1,47-1,04-0,84-0,70 which is absolutely ideal for the streets. Perhaps your friend will sell me his 3.20 if he is not satisfied with it?
I can ask him when he gets back from a trip
That would be great thanks. You can PM me if you want so we don't have to bore the forum with all the details.

Bad timing, Goodroc. The lightly used 3.20:1 ring & pinion went to England on Monday. Sorry.
arrrgh that is unfair
