Hello to all,
I need to get a p/n for a steel damper for 4044. Since I'm going through everything else I thought I might as well.
I've also got a question about aussie heads. I'd like to hear from someone who has experience with them.
One last thing, what is the easiest way to remove all the undercoat on my car? Any great ideas?
Thanks Guy

Rebuilt 351-C dampers are available from most engine builders, or directly from "Damper Dudes," in Redding CA (I think).

Removing the undercoating is plain miserable grunt-labor. There are NO shortcuts. Some use a propane torch & putty knife, some use solvent and it's possible to use dry ice and a hammer. ALL are difficult & dangerous (the last can give you frostbite)
As far as the undercoating goes, if the whole car is being painted the undercarriage could be sand-blasted, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you are completely stripping out the car. When I had my car done everything (glass, interior, motor, trainy) were removed. It was a rolling chassis. The undercarriage was blasted clean and primed and painted final body color. When I got it home there was sand everywhere in the interior, but the bottom looks almost as nice as the topside. After I got it home, I disassemled all of the suspension, powdercoated it and reinstalled with new poly bushings. I have heard of people who have sandblasted the undercarriage with the glass in and wound up etching the windshield.
