Reminds me of an old comic strip, if it's too well known, forgive me.
This is about a lonely guy. He's always alone, never gets visitors, and nobody calls him. He sees an ad for an inflatable friend (male, not like the one above), and he buys one. He then places the inflatable friend in a chair in the dining room, he serves coffee and pretends to have a conversation with the inflatable friend. And it actually makes him feel a little better, even a silent inflatable friend like that is better than none. And then, after an hour's conversation, suddenly the phone rings. The guy gets up, smiling, and goes to answer the phone. He comes back shortly after, looking sad, and says to the inflatable friend: "It's for you."
When you block a person, they can no longer invite you to a private message or post to your profile wall. Replies and comments they make will be collapsed/hidden by default. Finally, you'll never receive email notifications about content they create or likes they designate for your content.
