Oddly the first thing that I felt like doing was the drip rail removal. I did this by cutting away 3-4 inch sections with a sawzall to minimize heat input and ensure things didnt move too much. I then welded those sections an inch at a time alternating areas. When the drip rail is cut away the upper section is VERY thin at the join as it is cut on the curve. All of the welding was done with my Miller Dynasty tig using .045 Mig wire as filler. This allowed me to keep the heat input very low. I am aiming for minimal filler in these areas. The corners were then smoothed with a hand file, again, to keep heat low.
