I really like the paint on that one. Amazing how a good body makes paint stand out isn't it???

Ron in that top view of the engine, you see where they cast in that "R"??? That is what makes the engine go fast.
Ron are you going to have to out out and weld metal around the nose?
No comprendo ???

The body work and the welds that was done around the nose; is it good enough to go forward or do you need to re-work it?
No needs a bunch of work ...they need some grinding ...hammer and dolly work ...then fine grinding .. I know they look rough... but there full penetration all the way thru the butt welds. LOL

beautiful metal work!
What kind of halogen headlights are you going to use? (size, mounting brackets, etc)
4 90mm with H-9 bulbs they make a high and low beam housing in my 4" tube .. you can get the entire package for 300.00 Suqsehanna or something like that they are in Pa. Thats good enough for me ... I can't live with the pop up headlights. They sound like an old BILCO door when they go up and down.

...andthey weigh like 78 pounds and look like a frog with a finger up its rectum. But that is also why I like them. They make the car look it's age.
Ron been meaning to drop in. They look great! Did you do all the metal work yourself? I see your headlight bar is gone.

Yea thats my work ... thats my business ... not hard if its from scratch ... working to replace the rust is the challange ... all the light bar, motor and the headlight buckets are all on sale .. LOL
Ok looks like I made it to a point where new rockers may be an alernate solution. Debating bending them up myself or buying..anyone with suggestions and pricing. I must be getting old.
Oh and a nice source of info www.allshops.org. brushing up on what I may have forgotten over the years of not doing this stuff every day anymore.

I know how you do it Ron,,,,,You have another to drive while you strip and rebuild this one to keep from having Pantera Seperation Syddrome. PSS for short
LPB ...you figured me out .. LOL I restored too many cars. Trying to fix them up in a rush ends up costing a lot more money and cause extreme stress .. and by the time your done you lost interest. So I figured 9138 was an investment. Its a bone stock 79 GTS never touched by BUTCHERMANS hands ???
NO PSS ! LOL
NO PSS ! LOL
It's looking good Ron. Keep the pics coming..

Ok today I finally got some time to mock up the suspension and mount my new wheels and tires ..with a little duct tape I also scoped out just how much work I;m in for with the Stell GR4 Flairs ... a lot of work ahead. But it gave me some ambition to jump ahead and find some time.

Thanks guys ... I have been very busy with work and the baby is due in a few weeks .. so I finally got some time to mock it up.
Mark .. I have the new head lights but havent completed them with the mounting plates from the kit .. but the head lights from susquehanna are awsome.

Hey Ron. I applaude you. Great work. Don't know where you find the time to get so far ahead.
Did the steel flares fit well? I read many posts about poor fit. Those look great.
Are you still going with a Cleveland?
When do you figure you'll be finished? And what color are you thinking of?

Will,
I find like 2 hours maybe 2 times a week ??? sometimes I get a jump on it on the weekends. but its very time consuming as you know.
The steel flairs ??? I had nothing to go by .. for some reason I cant find any pics of the cars that have them of the rear/ rear lower piece. I cut and fit the rears ..so this weekend I will be tack welding them on.
I;m going with the windsor block and C302B heads .. the C block will not be done in time.
I cant predict when it will be done .. funds and a new baby will probably dictate that schedule for me.
Color .. I;m thinking Orange metallic. But things are subject to change if I see a new car with a nice color.

Whatever you do Ron, do NOT put a wing on it. I'm not typically a fan of flared cars, but your car looks absolutely BITCHEN in your mockup - low, fat and mean looking!
Mark - Here are a couple of pics of a similar headlight treatment, but not quite as sculpted as Ron's.

Garth,
Do you have pictures of the rear of the car? I'd be curious about what mods were done there.
