Driver window stuck down. Ammeter shows current draw on switch activation. Is there a simple fix? Thanks.

If still using the original plastic gear it is probably broken and jammed. No easy fix. You need to dissassemble the door and remove the mechanism to replace it.

Did you try using the emergency crank to move the window? If the window still doesn't move, but the crank spins, the gear is probably stripped. If it is jammed, you should be able to get it unstuck by working the crank opposite ways. At least you may be able to get the window up until you can take the door apart. Good luck.

What emergency crank? I have the original toolbox, would it be in there. Where is it inserted?

In the door panel there is a plug about 4 inches away from where the top of the armrest attaches, pry out the plug and you can crank the window up or down. The crank should be in your tool kit but if not, you can use a flat bladed screwdriver, you have to press in and turn at the same time. All of this assumes you have the original interior and that a custom interior job hasn't eliminated the access holes. The bronze gear upgrade is a must, and there is one in each window mechanism and the headlight mechanism uses the same one also.

If you are able to access the window motor through the emergency port, move the window up a few turns then try the window switch again. The window may go up under power. If not, repeat the process a couple of more times. Crank it all the way up as the last resort, it moves slooooowly.

Thanks for the advice. Found the handle, and has you guessed custom interior covers access to crank...door panel off tonight.
When you get the door panel off, look for a round plastic protrusion with a plus sign in the middle. It should be white.

As the other replys said...you will need to replace the bronze gear, which can be purchased from any of the Pantera vendors. I think someone has it on sale. Mike Daley's web site has a Technical section, and in there it tells how to get the window assembly out, without stitches, no hammers or long screwdrivers. A must read. Good Luck
