Could anyone tell me how involved changing a throttle cable in a 87 GTS-5 will be. My friend has one & the cable has broken off. He said it looks like you might have to take the seats out?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On a 74 the cable runs up the left side of the console, you have to remove the bulkhead cover and the console main section (where the shifter is) You do not have to remove the front console where the gauges are, but you do have to remove the "kick panel" on the left side. I believe it is probably easier to do this w/ the driver side seat removed. This is 4 bolts.

I replaced mine and didn't have to take the seats out. Pretty easy actually. Remove the shifter gate, the screws holding your console down and remove it and then kick panel on the drivers side. You'll see everything running down the drivers side of the console.
