We put BFG 215-60-15s and 275-60-15s on 7s & 8s for Daves 7125.

Well proportioned, no interferences.

If you do choose spacers, 1.25" will allow you to use the stock wheel studs and places the outside of an 8" rim at just about the same as a Campy 10" wheel would.

Did Dave have to roll the lip on the fenders?  If so, on the rear, front, or both?

It seems like the 1.25" spacers would require the rear fenders to be rolled.

I just saw what you wrote on the posting about spacers.  Did Dave keep the spacers on this car?

Here is what LarryW wrote on the other posting:

I have a set of 10" campis on a stock bodied car.

It seems they split their extra 2" of width as about 1.25 inches more to the outside and .75 inches more to the inside as compared to an 8" wheel.

A 30mm spacer ought to put an 8" wheel at just a couple mms shy of the outside of a 10" wheel.

We tried a set of 1.25" spacers like yours with 8" wheels on a friends car and it looked pretty good. Rolling the fender lip is encouraged with 295-50s. The stock studs tucked just inside the spacer and cleared the backside of the wheel flange fine.

Agreed.  Wilkinson does not sell 10" rims.  He does sell stub axles, bearing spacers, double row bearings, axle nuts, and other related parts.  All of the parts that you may need when rebuilding the rear carriers.

He also said the wide tires (275, 285, 295) may not fit well on the 8" rim.  The tread tends to bow outward towards the pavement.

@stevebuchanan here is what I did

https://pantera.infopop.cc/top...-spacers-narrow-body

now, with what I know now I would have gone with the 1.25” spacers just because of the hassle getting the clearance for the wheel studs… (measure how much your studs stick out from the hub)

one other thing to consider is the tire speed rating available for the 15” rims..

With 1" spacers, I simply had to cut the unthreaded end of the original studs (3 or 4 mm).

If we analyze the stresses supported by the bearings, we see that adding spacers only increases the stress on the inner bearing, which is the one that wears the least.

My 285 x 50 x 15 wheels mounted on 8" rims are wearing steadily so far, but I've only covered 1,600 miles.
It's true that the maximum recommended width with 8" rims is 275 mm, but if abnormal tread wear occurs, it's always possible to adjust the inflation pressure accordingly.

As I posted above, I had 285/50/15 P7’s and they fit fine and rim fitment 8”-10”. This is from the Longstone Tyre website.

Steve, I ran BFGs 305x50x15 on the rear 8" wheels on my stock body 73 for Years, with No Problems.
