My Sanden A/C compressor is leaking oil. I assume it has given up the ghost. At some point I need to go through the entire A/C system but that is not anytime soon. I assume I can just purchase a shorter belt that runs around the alternator, water pump and crank? Thanks. Shashi

I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t reroute with a shorter belt.
I noticed you are no longer using V-belts but have converted to a flat ribbed belt. Can you give us details on that conversion, please.

You can just unhook the wire to the compressor and leave it there as an idler pulley.

Unfortunately I don’t have any insight as I purchased the car with these pulleys.
Thanks, Shashi
That is not a ribbed belt, it is a cog belt and yes they are noisy.
...Even Though you may disconnect the Wire for the Compressor Clutch...The Engine is still using Unnecessary Horsepower to spin the Clutch 'Flywheel'. Think, what happens at a Much Higher RPM!!
