NEED CLARIFICATION OF WHICH END IS RIGHT AND PROPER ROUTING: I'm in the process of reinstalling my A/C hoses after a number of idle years on my '72 pre "L". The larger 1" hose from the evaporator to the compressor has a 90 degree fitting on one end and a straight fitting at the other end. When connecting the straight end to the evaporator connection (which points downward), the A/C hose is literally in the passenger footwell. The 90 degree end connected to the compressor adapts quite well. If I reverse the hose end for end, the 90 degree end fits the evaporator and moves the hose higher in the passenger footwell, but leaves the straight end connection virtually impossible to be connected to the compressor. I am routing the hoses in OE fashion - from the right side of the evaporator, around through the console tunnel, with a sharp turn at the rear of the console, over to the right side of the bulkhead and through the bulkhead to the compressor. It seems that if the hose had a 90 degree fitting at both ends, that's all I would need. Maybe I've misplaced a fitting. Need clarification as to which end is to which component and the proper routing of the hose as it comes from the evaporator to the tunnel. Thank you.
